It may come as no surprise that LCF’s lemurs have fans and supporters from around the world. We’re delighted to recognize Helen Morris from the UK for the many ways that she has partnered with us to help protect and save Madagascar’s primates.
Not only is she a recurring monthly donor, but, recently, when her mother, Marney Dainty, another LCF donor and “huge lemur lover” sadly passed away, Helen and her family and friends remembered her with thoughtful memorial donations to LCF.
And, as an instructor at a dance school, Helen organized a fundraiser for LCF on World Lemur Day, October 25, 2019. We are incredibly grateful to Helen and her dance group for raising over $500. Helen shared, ‘We had a lovely charity night with everyone dressing up and dancing, and a lemur quiz and talk.’
Helen wrote to Tora Buttaro, LCF Director of Development, in an email, ‘I found the Lemur Conservation Foundation online after researching various lemur charities. I first became interested in lemurs after visiting a local wildlife park and meeting their lemurs. I became a huge fan of these amazing animals and started visiting more and more, until eventually they gave me a job and now I work there part-time as a guide and get to spend many hours talking to people about lemurs!’
Thank you so much, Helen, for your compassion for lemurs, helping to build awareness about these primates, and supporting the Lemur Conservation Foundation.
